Sharing the Beauty of Our LGBTQ+ Couples
In these GORGEOUS images Dakota and Sammy show off their love! These two are such a courageous couple and I couldn’t be more honored to photograph them! In these photos we feel the profound sense of love, adventure, and freedom these two share. Having eloped last December, Dakota and Sammy chose to embrace their new life together and explore the beauty and nature Colorado Has to offer with me by their side!
This session takes place at one of my FAVORITE trails in Boulder, and that’s the Flatiron Vista and Prairie Vista! This trail features a majestic mountainous backdrop, beautiful trails in the tall grasses, and the most adorable little pond ever! We had the session at 6:30 pm and the lighting got more magical by the minute. As Dakota and Sammy walk these paths hand in hand, it is a beautiful symbol of their connection and shared commitment to navigating their new live together no matter how many highs and lows there are both in life and on these trails.
I’ve asked Dakota and Sammy some questions and I think their answers would be best heard from them!
Tell me about your beginning! How did you meet? Where did you meet? Where was your first date?
Sammy and I met on hinge. Our first date was at the corn maze at Chatfield Farms in Littleton. We had the best time laughing and getting to know each other and the rest is history.
When and where did you get engaged?
We didn’t have a formal engagement. One day we just decided, why wait? We got married a few weeks later.
What style/theme did you have for your wedding day?
We eloped so we had a very simple and intimate ceremony in the Rocky Mountains.
Do you have any tips for couples getting married?
Communicate. Sammy and I got married last December and have never been in a “fight”. We have disagreements but can work through them easily with communication skills before the disagreement escalates.
Dakota and Sammy’s decision to elope further highlights their desire to forge their own path. By prioritizing their love and desire for freedom, they have embraced a life that is true and authentic to them. Their willingness to break away from established norms and traditions demonstrates the strength of their genuine connection. These images should serve as a reminder to follow your hearts, create your own narratives, and stay true to who you really are.
