Covid has definitely thrown us all for a loop – there’s no denying that. So many couples have had to make the difficult decision to cancel their original wedding plans, downsize, reschedule, or postpone until 2021 or even later. Katie + Tony had been wanting to get married and decided that they were tired of waiting for Covid to be over and just eloped!
Their wedding took place inside a beautiful gazebo right on the shoreline. Their wedding was attended by 13 fantastic guests who were there to cheer them on for their big day!
We were planning to get some shots with the colorful sunrise but Mother Nature had other plans. Hurricane Laura had curved to the right and decided to grace us with some light rain and clouds instead of giving us clear colorful skies. I ah honestly so grateful for the lighting we managed to get during our post-ceremony images. Thankfully the rain only happened while we were inside the gazebo!
After they traded vows and rings, we captured all the friends and family photos inside the gazebo. We spent the rest of the morning exploring the historic site. It is a beautiful property with a million different settings to get some very charismatic and unique images. We had such a great time walking on the beach and seeing the sights.
These past few months have been filled with a lot of sadness, many canceled plans, and a feeling of dread for not knowing just how long things will go on as they are. But there was something that morning that made us all forget about everything else, if just for a few hours. We explored, laughed, and cried at the sheer joy of something good in the middle of an uncertain time.
Katie + Tony, thank you for showing everyone that love is about defying odds and finding something worth celebrating, even when everything else feels uncertain.
